My thoughts about homosexuals and same-sex marriage

Hello, everyone. Today I am going to write a post about homosexuality and same-sex marriage. I will give you many facts about homosexuals and give my opinions about them.

“Attorney General Eric Holder said Friday the federal government will recognize more than 1,000 same-sex marriages in Utah, despite an earlier announcement this week from the states governor saying the state would not. What do you think about this statement? Seodaemun-gu Office in northern Seoul said Tuesday that it will refuse to register the marriage between two men film director Kim-JhoGwang-soo and film distributor Kim Seung-hwan citing the Constitution. How about this? Well, these two statements were about SAME SEX MARRIAGE. But the former was agreeing with it, and the latter was objecting to it.

A homosexual means a person who identifies physical attractiontoward the same sex. Originally, in Korea homosexuality is not accepted biologically and socially, but now most countries are having friendly attitude toward homosexuality. In today’s speech, I want to tell you that we have to understand and accept things like homosexuals loving each other, getting married, and adopting children. Also, we should consider how homosexuals and same-sex marriage help our society.

First, same-sex marriage means the variety of families. Nowadays, we have many various types of families, such as nuclear family, childless family, and even single parent family. In this kind of social current, it’s wrong to object to same-sex marriage, while accepting many special kinds of families. Not getting rights and benefits because they are homosexuals is not only unfair personally, but also can’t be accepted for social ethics.

Second, homosexuals can’t change themselves into heterosexuals with their wills, because homosexuality is mostly due to biological factors, according to a research about homosexuals. If we say homosexuality is bad and it can’t be allowed for those people, it will be ignoring and even denying the existence of homosexuals. So we need to consider allowing same-sex marriage.

Next, there’s no reason to be discriminated because they are homosexuals. It’s undeniable that they are Koreans and the fact they are homosexuals doesn’t affect accomplishing their duties as Koreans. Thus, we have to recognize their freedomto marry who they love. Also, they don’t affect badly to people or trigger bad effects socially, so we don’t have to worry about or discriminate homosexuals because of it. They sure have their rights to love and marry each other, like the others loveand marry each other. We need to have the courage and the attitude to accept their freedom as a citizen of Korea.

Lastly, as left-handedness is not bad, homosexuality is not quite different from the left-handed. But people are discriminating them because of a small difference, for example, they don’t use right hands. We don’t need to contempt or force our thoughts because other’s opinions are different from ours. But it’s sad that people can’t reveal their gender identity and get married with the same-sex because Koreans still see homosexuality negatively. For true happiness of every Korean, I think we need to agree and try to understand everyone’s sense of value, thoughts, and ideas. It’s our duty to see them as themselves not attacking or laughing at their opinions and thoughts.

To conclude, we have to acknowledge homosexuals as another kind of difference and permit them tomarry each other and live happily by making a harmonious family. Thus, to accept their ideas, we should know same-sex marriage shows us the variety of families. Also, they can’t change themselves into heterosexuals so we have to respecttheir own nature. Additionally, we must not have any prejudice against them just because of the fact that they are homos. We should try to co-exist together.

Thank you for reading my post. Bye!

  1. First of all, I mean no offense to gay people...
I believe that not seeing a problem as a problem is the bad thing.
There has to be a line where the freedom stops. Just my opinion...
    Good work!!!
